CertifiedThe packet carries a halal certification mark recorded in the database. We name the certifier.
Nothing flaggedEvery declared ingredient parsed cleanly and none is on our list. This speaks only to what the manufacturer printed.
Needs checkingOne or more ingredients can come from either a plant or an animal, and the label does not say which.
Contains flaggedAn ingredient scholars broadly agree is impermissible appears in the list.
An ingredients list is not a certificate. It cannot show the source of an enzyme, whether equipment was shared with pork products, or how an animal was slaughtered. Manufacturers also reformulate without changing the barcode.
